Sometimes unwelcome folks call at our homes. They may be trying to sell us something and we would rather not stand and listen to their pitch, or they maybe conducting a survey and we just don't have the time to spare.

And sometimes those that call at our homes have much, much darker intentions. The first thing that they want you to do is open up your front door. A home intercom system can help you avoid opening your door to unwanted callers. . .

Mar 6, The Benefits of Purchasing A Small Home Safe.

The most obvious reason a homeowner would prefer a small safe is because of the compactness. You can put it virtually anywhere in your home without it taking up a great deal of space.

It can be very annoying to have an oversized safe that takes up half your closet when all you need is a place to store a few treasured possessions and keep them secure.

An additional benefit to owning a smaller safe is being able to hide it much easier. When you have a large safe, it can sometimes be difficult to conceal. If a burglar does . . .

Criminals are discouraged by the presence of smaller dogs just as much as they are discouraged by larger dogs. They do not want to risk being caught because of your watch dog barking and attracting attention.

Feb 14, A Home Wall Safe - part of your home security.

Home wall safes, or any kind of home safe, should be only a part of your home security measures. Burglars, if they have any sense at all, will want to get in to and then out of, a property as quickly as possible. The more barriers, by the way of security measures, which you put in the way of a burglar the more chance he has of being caught and the less chance he has of stealing your valuables.

Your home wall safe is the last barrier between the burglar and the valuables that you have secured inside.

Midland, Texas, Police are investigating twelve home invasions since the beginning of January. The most recent five happened at the Northridge Court Apartment Homes. Those five apartment burglaries all fell after January 16th.

"It's really scary because apparently it's so easy to break in", said Northridge tenant, Corley Howard.

After a burglary this weekend, Corley shares the mood of many at Northridge Court Apartments, which is now the latest corner of Midland to be hit by a series of burglaries.

"They kind of forced their way", explained Craig Sawyer.

Thieves entered Sawyer's apartment through his sliding glass doors. "I think everybody's kind of scared you know", said Sawyer.

Midland Police Sergeant, David Garcia wants residents to call MPD with even the slightest suspicions of crime and keep their doors locked and secured. Those measures can lead police to a break through in the case.

Jan 30, Insurance Approved Alarms That Get You A Discount.

Many home insurance companies are willing to give discounts on their policy rates to those homes protected by an alarm system on their list of insurance approved burglar alarms.

Not only do these insurance companies believe that homes are less likely to suffer a loss through burglary if an alarm is installed but rate one model of alarm over another.

So as an incentive for you to install, and use, one of their preferred alarms they give you a small saving on your insurance cost.

Often, but not always, the alarm systems that the insurance companies approve are monitored systems.. .
