Feb 3, 2010, Police Searching for Suspects in Apartment Burglaries.

Midland, Texas, Police are investigating twelve home invasions since the beginning of January. The most recent five happened at the Northridge Court Apartment Homes. Those five apartment burglaries all fell after January 16th.

"It's really scary because apparently it's so easy to break in", said Northridge tenant, Corley Howard.

After a burglary this weekend, Corley shares the mood of many at Northridge Court Apartments, which is now the latest corner of Midland to be hit by a series of burglaries.

"They kind of forced their way", explained Craig Sawyer.

Thieves entered Sawyer's apartment through his sliding glass doors. "I think everybody's kind of scared you know", said Sawyer.

Midland Police Sergeant, David Garcia wants residents to call MPD with even the slightest suspicions of crime and keep their doors locked and secured. Those measures can lead police to a break through in the case.

Jan 26, 2010, Woman pleads guilty to role in burglaries.

A woman could spend nearly three years locked away for her part in various burglaries in Middlesex County.

The woman pleaded guilty to a slew of charges, including third-degree burglary, second-degree larceny and conspiracy charges.

The charges relate to a rash of burglaries that took place throughout Middlesex County in the fall and winter months of 2008.

According to police, two male defendants would break into homes during the daytime hours, figuring the residents would be working. The pair would knock on doors of secluded homes with long driveways. If someone answered, they would make-up a story about searching for a lost dog, court officials said. If no one answered the door, the men would typically break into the home through a back door.

On various occasions, the woman who police say is a girlfriend of one of the males, participated in the crimes. At times, she waited in the car while the men burglarized the homes, but more than once she entered the homes with her codefendants, police said.
